Reports stated that a humpback whale washed up on Lido Beach at dawn, expiring soon afterward. Its immense length of 35 feet, as well as its heft of several tons, was noticed on the shoreline close to Woodhail Street.
As the giant crane was being prepared to lift the deceased whale off the shoreline in preparation for the rising tide at 2:30 p.m., some in the audience were moved to tears.
It was reported by a source that there seemed to be no signs of any trauma due to either a vessel collision or an entanglement on the whale.
The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society reacted to the situation and is anticipated to perform an autopsy on the humpback whale today.
Patchy rain nearby, with a high of 76 and low of 44 degrees. Cloudy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, thundery outbreaks in nearby in the evening, clear overnight.
