A Long Island man has been accused of murder of a dog belonging to his girlfriend, as well as threatening to inflict physical harm upon her
Prosecutors declared that Scott Walker confided to veterinarians that Jäger the dog had tumbled down the stairs and injured himself - yet a post-mortem contradicted this.
A callous offense against an unprotected dog has ignited the fury of a Long Island community following the apprehension of a person who allegedly killed his girlfriend's canine—then proceeded to menace her as well.
Scott Walker (aged 44, hailing from Holbrook) was accused of kicking his girlfriend's 11-year-old pooch as he left the courthouse on Thursday - although Walker refrained from conversing with reporters and, at times, stooped to conceal himself behind documents.
An inquiry was launched after Jäger, the dog, was brought to a veterinarian. According to the prosecutors, Walker claimed to the police that the animal had tumbled down the stairs.
Jäger unfortunately passed away while in the care of doctors, and an autopsy revealed that he had suffered from abuse.
