A 16-year-old driver was fatally injured and three other teenagers suffered injuries when a pre-dawn crash occurred on Long Island.

Two Long Island communities are in mourning following the early morning tragedy on the road that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl and left three other teenagers wounded from a harsh collision.

It appears that the driver should have never been alone in the vehicle, let alone with other young people in it, making the situation even direr.

Remnants of Sunday's collision in Old Brookville were still observable on the highway the day after a 2008 Nissan carrying four adolescents was wrecked severely. The car had strayed from the loopy Chicken Valley Road and slammed into a tree nearby at 3:30 a.m

Angelia Dominguez, a 16-year-old student at Seaford High School, was fatally injured in the accident. Additionally, three boys who attended Hicksville High School, the ages of 13, 14, and 15, were hurt in the crash.

The Nassau County police confirmed that Dominguez had just been issued a learner's permit and, as such, was not legally able to drive unaccompanied during that time period.

In a letter to parents on Monday, Seaford High School expressed their sorrow and lamented that nothing they can say can bring solace to Angelia's family and friends suffering from grief. Hicksville High School extended their prayers to the boys who were wounded and Nassau police reported that the sixteen-year-old was in very critical shape.

The Nassau Police Department has yet to disclose the identities of the three youths who suffered injuries. It remains unclear what the adolescents were engaging in while operating their vehicle at such an early time.
